Teaching & Tutoring Experience
I have taught at the secondary level both in UK and overseas for over 32 years - mostly in Comprehensive schools but also in private education. I have taught in Scotland, the Caribbean and the Middle East. I am or have been a Geography Examiner for AQA (A Level), OCR (GCSE), Edexcel (A Level) and IB Higher Geography Exams. I have also taught Maths and English at GCSE and Key Stage 3.
Four years ago I started tutoring online using Skype and have tutored students located in the UK, Shanghai, Hong Kong & Mexico City. I now only tutor Geography at all levels, and use virtual classroom technology as well.

“ David always used a lot of examples and Case Studies to help me grasp knowledge easily, during the 6 months he tutored me A2 Edexcel Geography on-line from China. His Fast Meeting (interactive like Skype) lessons over the internet are humorous, coordinated and planned, as well as making them not difficult to understand. He helped me to get an A* for Edexcel A Level Geography in this year’s exam ”

“ David helped me make tremendous progress. Our sessions were tailored to improving my exam techniques. David, an experienced Geography Examiner, gave me the best advice possible. My completed work was annotated with lots of notes, advice and constructive criticism. David expanded my knowledge and showed me how to break bad exam habits. Overall David’s tuition has taken me to the higher level (an A*), that I otherwise would not have been able to achieve ”
“ David Poupart has very successfully taught my son with Aspergers Syndrome over a period of about 18 months, to enable him to sit his GCSE Geography Exam. During this time there were many ups and downs as a result of my son’s Autism, however, David persevered with the regular disruptions to his very detailed schedule for home tutoring, with extreme enthusiasm, professionalism and his continual ability to being flexible to my sons needs. There were many times when on both sides it would have been easy to give up on the course, but David's persistence and determination and great many years of expertise, made Geography a subject of interest and a pleasure to learn for my son. In fact, my son would have liked David to teach him for all of the other subjects too, as he liked his adaptive teaching style. I would have no hesitation in recommending David to potential tutees - excellent tutor and person. ”
