Teaching & Tutoring Experience
I have been teaching since 1988 and tutoring since 2008. I have taught in both state and private schools and have experience of teaching primary and secondary pupils, as well as adults. I have taught French to GCSE/IGCSE and German to A level and have also tutored undergraduate students who are studying German.
Some may think that foreign language study is becoming irrelevant in a world where English seems almost universal, but I would say that if you really want to understand the inhabitants of a particular country, then learning their language is a must, and by learning that language you will enhance your awareness and knowledge of your own mother tongue, which is both a fascinating and enriching experience. And besides, why would you want to miss out on all the FUN that learning a foreign language can provide!

“ Isabella took a struggling and largely unenthusiastic son from a likely 'C' grade at the beginning of Year 11 to achieving an A grade in his GCSE German exam nine months later. She introduced him to methods to aid his learning and memorising of phrases and vocabulary, as well as producing tailored audio recordings which he was able to listen to on the walk to school, that proved to be very effective when it came to sitting the exams. As well as being an excellent and enthusiastic teacher with a clear understanding of the curriculum examples, she was a delight to deal with and I would strongly recommend her to anyone who is looking for a German tutor. ”

“ Isabella offered me really helpful and reliable tuition which helped my confidence in my spoken and written work increase massively. Without her help I would not have been able to achieve an overall A grade in A-level German and secure a place at my first choice University. ”
“ At the beginning of this year, Georgina's school were considering entering her for the foundation level GCSE French. After private tuition with Isabella, this was no longer necessary, Georgina was entered for the higher level GCSE and obtained an 'A' grade. Quite simply, this would not been possible without Isabella, she is a fantastic teacher and I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending her. ”
“ Nina improved with confidence and ability in all the weak areas in her subject, A2 German, which she previously felt was her weakest subject. She was very pleased with her A Level end results and is at the University of her first choice. ”
